Please help me raise money for the American Foundation of Suicide PreventionHey everyone! I know that I don’t post a lot on here anymore, but this is something that’s really important to me and that I’d like to share with all of you. This Saturday, I’m going to be participating in the Out of the Darkness walk at my local park. This walk is sponsored by the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention, and is a tool to raise both money and awareness about this very serious public health issue. As someone who has struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts, and knows others who have either struggled personally with the same demons, or have lost loved ones to suicide, this cause hits close to home to me. To be able to take part in the walk is not only going to help educate people in my community, but the population at large. The money donated to AFSP goes towards research aimed at improving our understanding of suicide and ways to prevent it as well as educational programs to increase awareness about prevention, warning signs and the psychiatric illnesses that can lead to suicide. And this is where you all come in. I humbly ask you to consider donating even just $1 to this vital foundation. With suicide being the second leading cause of death among teens and young adults, I’m sure that you have had someone in your life, or in the lives of someone close to you, that has struggled. Your contribution would go towards resources to help those who need it, whether they are struggling within themselves, or struggling to understand a loved one’s personal battle. You would be, effectively, helping to save lives. Thank you so much for just reading this lengthy post.
